In simple word, competencies are the underlying characteristics of an employee which enable a superior and effective performance. Competency mapping has become a buzzword- There is a rat race amongst organizations to go for Competency mapping – it has become an indicator of the status of HR function in organizations. Being a costly and time consuming and sensitive intervention, it needs to be done only after understanding its potential, limitations and complications well.
Competency mapping includes two main parts – (i). Identification and description of competencies for selected roles/positions, preparing competency framework and (ii) Assessing competencies. When competency assessment is carried out for administrative uses like selection, increments, promotions – the process is called ‘Assessment Centre’ and when done for developing people – it is called ‘Development centre’.
This certificate program aims at building the competencies of those who have a role to play in building competency based individuals, dyads, teams and organizations. The program will also be instrumental in building the distinctive abilities required for people managers / professionals to be a Certified Assessor.
After attending this programme, participants will be able to:
